“before the Featherweight – Sewhandy” by Darrel P. Kaiser / D. Philipp Kaiser

S-ish Library

The 2 volume set of “before the Featherweight – Sewhandy” is the most comprehensive and thorough treatise on the Sewhandy sewing machine originally developed and marketed by the Standard Sewing Machine Company of Cincinnati, Ohio and made by the Frederick Osann Co from the mid 1920s until the end of it’s production in 1938.

It was also branded as the GE Model A and the Osann company was later absorbed by the Singer Company who had developed the much better known Featherweight in 1933 and remained in production until 1968.
